Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD's)
GENERAL PURPOSE RTD's
General purpose RTD temperature sensor assemblies are used in multiple processes and HVAC applications. There is a choice of element materials, values and accuracies, a choice of element leadwire configurations, and a choice of sheath materials and diameters. All assemblies can be supplied with Pyromation's low cost integral head mounted RTD transmitter. For special purpose applications, see "Special Purpose" section below.
CIP SANITARY CONNECTING RTD's
These are usually used in food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing applications where of sensors and contamination of food are critical. These sensors meet or exceed specifications set forth by the 3A Sanitary Council Standard #09-08.
RTD TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTERS
Pyromation's patented RTD transmitters are designed to produce a linerized (4 to 20) mA dc output current signal, which is directly proportional to the temperature of the RTD temperature sensing element. There are a variety of models available for RTD sensor inputs of different element values and temperature coefficients. Contact Busch Electronics for available models.
Special Purpose Sensors
Drilled and Flanged Thermowells- Wide variety of drilled and flanged thermowells to protect temperature sensing elements from the corrosion, high pressure and high velocities that can be present in many industrial applications.
Drilled thermowells are typically manufactured from single piece bar-stock without welds. Flanded thermowells typically have their stems manufactured from single piece bar-stock and have flanges welded onto the stem.
Both styles are available in several different physical configurations, in a variety of materials, and with a choice of bore sizes and mounting threads or flange sizes. Available as separate components or as part of a complete temperature sensor assembly.
Averaging Sensors- Sensor to measure cross-sectional temperature in large air ducts.
Insertion Probes- Thermocouples and RTD probes for penetrating meats, fish, poultry and other food products.
Heat Tracing/ Tube Skin- RTDs or Thermocouples with weld pads for pipelines or boiler tube skins temperature measurements.
Rubber Compound and Aggregate Mixer- Thermocouples with hardened tool steel, carbide, tungsten or chrome coated tips for abrasive service.
Textile "T" Sensor- RTD sensor for "Godet" temperature measurement in textile fiber processing.
High Temperature Service- Platinum thermocouples in high temperature sheaths for vacuum furnace service.
